Hey, Gloves. Glad you're digging it. Thanks for chiming in.

That Ride have done 2 albums since their reunion speaks volumes about people overcoming grievances and working together towards a shared benefit.

Hope you and yours have been doing well.

Agreed, that Tomorrow's Shores EP from last year I really liked, they're a band that's always going to be interesting.

Good to hear from you, even if we had some political squabs, always good to see you on the board.

Cheers

All hail sleepysilverdoor!

Dammit man, I've downloaded one of your mixes before but i just went back to like 2013 and there's 13 compilations you've posted that are still up on google drive available to download. If you fellow jicksters have some free time this weekend i suggest you check out some of these, really rad stuff and some of it pretty obscure - at least to me anyway. I do a radio show once a week so this is definitely going to keep things fresh. Cheers

This is an interesting post in that I don't know who Hashem is and I don't think anyone has taken offense. I think we should all just keep rollin' rollin' rollin'

HeyO! Heading to Dallas for tomorrow's show at the Granada, great venue, have seen Devendra Banhart, Belle and Sebastian, and Beck w/ Smokey Hormel there. My wife has been digging Soccer Mommy, still coming around to SM & Jicks

Gloves, how was the Dallas show?

As SM said on twitter: Dallas gig was relatively sikk thnxx people

Pretty high energy show with the crowd super into it, like many people have commented, the Jicks seem to really enjoy playing together and that's fun to watch. We had seats at the very front left, and the middle of the venue had the seats out. The sushi place across from the venue was not the best and the Granada is an easy place to get drinks so I was pretty lit by the time they hit the stage. Standouts were Kite, Senator and In the Mouth of a Desert. Toward the end I came back from getting a drink and stood behind the Soccer Mommy guys for a minute and this guy sitting behind me told me to get out of the way. at this point things could have took a turn with me telling him to fuck off, but instead I sat down and asked him his name and what his favorite Jicks songs were, he wasn't as familiar with the new album and said he liked Pig Lib and I told him it was my favorite too. He said he was sorry for telling me to move. #sparklehard

Just got back from a morning bike ride and this hit me harder than I would have expected. He pulled back the layers on what it meant to be a traveler. He's someone that you might not always agree with but you still wanted to hear what he had to say.

If you're there longer than Sunday of the Jicks show on the 17th, hit some of your National Mall faves on Monday or Tuesday at opening or at the last 1-2 hours of the day.

Have fun!

As for summoning Eduardo, you face East, blink your eyes three times and say, "The Niceman Commeth — Eduardo..." again, three times. That oughta do the trick.

Thanks for the tips, Kate! We are now scheming on early and late museums visits. Sadly I will be arriving in DC a few days after the Jicks.

While I believe that is one possible way to summon the elusive beast, I have it on good authority that if you say "Eddie Refresh" three times into an eastern wind he will appear during the next new moon.

nguideau, I am not social media friends with any jicksters but I do have a neglected twitter account.

hopefully eddie sees that, as i'm unfortunately not up on current dc stuff.  i'm so far out in the boonies at this point that i've almost caught myself referring to frederick as "the city"

What's the Maryland suburbs of DC like?

Also, there's probably some spells or incantations that will summon eddie back to the jicksboard

Heyo heading to Washington DC in a couple of weeks, any recommendations, especially places off the radar?

Visited a couple of times about 10 years ago, plan to visit some of the usual monuments, air and space museum, natural history museum. We are taking my stepson, but will likely venture out on our own in the evening when he's complaining about being tired. We're staying at the Wharf

Damn that's a nice set list in Columbus. Seems like he might have saw the multiple requests for Sin Taxi, dig that. Wonder what things will be like by the time they get to Dallas.

"I look forward to the touring and to expanding or at least figuring out what I played on a couple of the older songs and have it change. We are learning this one song called "Witch Mountain Bridge," which was on Pig Lib."

http://gothamist.com/2018/05/22/stephen … parkle.php

anything off Pig Lib, especially Water and a Seat and Vanessa from Queens

Hopscotch Willie

No More Shoes

J Smoov

Sin Taxi

some unexpected covers, like maybe a raved up Karma Chameleon

Any last minute recommendations for Glasgow, the Loch Lomond region, or London? Got tickets to Europa League match between Arsenal and CSKA Moscow (amidst heightened tensions) and the Picasso 1932 exhibit at the Tate Modern, so I'm pretty jazzed about it all

If the weather is any good - a walk up Primrose Hill to look over the city from the north side (nearest tube Chalk Farm).
A look around Borough Market (nearest tube London Bridge)
A walk along the South Bank from London Bridge area to Waterloo area - actually if you are going to Tate Modern that is in the middle of this walk.
Tourist bus around the city (if you don't know it).
Jack the Ripper guided walk (Whitechapel area).

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!

Thank you, manireni!! This is the type of thing you can expect from this board. We will be in London Thursday and will heed your advice. Scotland has been more than wonderful
