Topic: Young Robert Smiff

This raises more questions than it answers. My mind is blown. What if the cure looked like this all through the 80's? Would they have lasted? Would they seem more accessible now?

Totally. The Cure were a haircut away from being a more musical The Clash. The forest is how I got onto this kick. I went hiking recently and saw all these crazy trees and it made me think of that song. I never heard that live version before and I've never seen the bands pre motley cru era look. It was a lot to take in, Senz. I mean, a lot.

Here's another great version.

Loving youtube right now.

Re: Young Robert Smiff

Of course we learned from In Orange that his signature hair was a wig most of the time. Is his hair a wig now or has he morphed into the caricature of himself he created in order to be the Robert Smith he thinks people want to see?

I feel like my journey to knowledge has only just begun.

In the meantime I think The Caterpillar is my favorite song and this is my favorite version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C2Ur9J_KX0

Listening now. I lost hours this morning to this. Saw a great interview of RS by a french outfit. It was pretty good. Continue to be impressed and intrigued.
