So good.

Re: Setlist / show review thread

Oh man, mid July can't come soon enough.  The diversity of these set lists has me salivating for getting two shows back to back so close to each other.

I'm already in withdrawal I think. I was thinking of trying to hit a second show later in the tour but the shows nearest to me (KC, Denver) are during a scheduled family vacation. dang it!

If only. 14th anniversary this weekend. Ms. Setya and I will be drinking alcohol and remembering the taste of our deliciously flaccid wedding cake.

Re: Setlist / show review thread

Happy Anniversary!

Re: Setlist / show review thread

Happy anniversary, setya!! 14 years huh?

Re: Setlist / show review thread

Thanks peeps!

We got married June '04 and moved  to Colorado to get some space from family later that fall. It was a fairly rough year as we ended up working different schedules and being left alone a lot. I joined the board the following April during the press push for Face the Truth. I'm not a "joiner," but I'm sure glad I made an exception. I bought the LP at Twist & Shout Records in Denver and I can still remember sitting in my apartment when the needle dropped on Pencil Rot for the first time. Ms. Setya was like, "this one is weird. even for you."

Re: Setlist / show review thread

so super quick review from Pittsburgh

killer show! the band seemed so gracious and surprised and pleased with the Weds night turnout in Pgh. seems Jake figured it was gonna be bomb and was telling the band "just wait 'til we get to Pittsburgh" or some such

vibez were flowing in and out, back and forth from stage to audience. everyone was in great spirits, some maybe more spirited than others...

stoked for the show in a few hours!!

That made me laugh. When listening to Pavement or the Jicks my girlfriend will sometimes says the same thing. She recently said that when listening to Conduit For Sale. Sometimes they just don't get it, but that's ok.

That's a killer encore. Hope they keep playing J Smoov

Re: Setlist / show review thread

felt like it took a while for the energy to reach the same level as Pgh the night before, but it about got there. crowd and band both seemed very appreciative of each other once again. I have never been a fan of the Grog Shop, it's just an awkward room, very few acts can get me to drive two hours and hang in that depressive old dungeon. but it didn't seem to effect the show too much last night

the banter was on point! the band seemed a little less "spirited". there seemed to be a little extra focus on jams last night. Shady Lane had a funny vamp/reprise type thing to end the show. not quite a jam, as alluded to from the SL the other night, and not as good as the Kills and Smoov jams from this night. best part of the vamp was Steve's closed-eyes, shoulder-shrug, Peanuts-esque dance, very silly

Totally agree on JSmoov. Love that shit.

Realmac, tell me more about the autograph hound. I've got a couple of things signed by Steve and the band before and they were fairly gracious if a little annoyed.

I purchased my St. Paul ticket with my signed RET vinyl. I maybe would not have been able to go at all without that arrow in my quiver, money is super tight and I wasn't able to afford $85 on stubhub.  Just saying, Steve & co, not everyone who asks you for an autograph is a jagbag trying to turn a profit on ebay.

Re: Setlist / show review thread

Dang I wish we would've gotten J Smoov in Columbus.

It was totally fun and harmless, and justified. Someone in the front row was apparently seeking a signing as they came out for the encore. Malk was like “this is the show, we’re still playing. After is cool. Am I out of touch? Do bands do this on stage now?” Or something to that effect. It was all in fun for sure. But nothing was signed from stage last night
