Re: Sparkle Hard Lyrics

kate, I can never tell if SM forgets his own lyrics or does it intentionally. smile But it has certainly always been part of the fun of the Jicks or Pavement live.

Another one I just remembered...

On the debate from LTEV as to whether it is "pluck/fluff/fuck you like a feather," well, I'm pretty damn sure it is all three.

Not sure if it's Mike or Jake or just a Steve overdub, but on that single word in that line, I believe one voice sings "pluck" and another sings "fluff." Makes sense -- you can pluck a feather, and well, you can nominally fluff one, too. That sure makes it sound like "fuck." I wonder if that was an intentional flourish.

Nothing wrong with any of the three versions. I initially heard it as "fuck" when I listened to the record and have to say the imagery of being fucked like a feather (following on the heels of "bend this room with my liquid tunes/groove?") was highly appealing, like something both intense and powerful and ultralight all at the same time. Exceedingly erotic. Plucking and fluffing...they have their merits too, nice to have a little rotation.

Oh, I forgot...I actually thought it was "fuck you like a panther..." until everyone started writing "feather." I like it both ways.

Re: Sparkle Hard Lyrics

"Fuck you like a panther" is incredible. I may choose to hear this from now on.

Re: Sparkle Hard Lyrics

I see it's written as "microagress" most places. I hear "my girl agress."

I also see it written "love maneuvers on the omnibus." I hear "love was always on the omnibus."
