Did you know that in American English, we would never say "made redundant," but rather "got laid off"? Surprisingly close to "got laid", except closer in spirit to "got screwed." I didn't learn about the expression "made redundant" until I learned to teach English from British people.

But are you actually in peril of being made redundant?

When i first read "made redundant" I read it as you using some Jimmeresque brit slang for getting super rich and having mafia protection. Like not just having it made, but having it so made it was redundant. 
This was how it looked in my cartoon bubble:
Jimmer: If this works out I'll be made and go to Japan and be a tycoon there too.
Other Brit: Yeah?
Jimmer: I'm gonna be so made I'll be made redundant.

I'm looking forward to taking my daughter to her first proper concert.  I've introduced her to various things that I like, but they were "mere" recordings.  I think Kate is the only one of us who's actually taken that step in music-sharing parenthood.  But do correct.
