Söderling seems to be doing fine but apparently he will meet Federer early on (if he makes it that far). He seems to be on a roll though and may have learned some things from the final in Paris...

Something about Söderling reminds me of you swede. Think it's the eyes. You must both have typically swedish eyes!

Re: wimbledon '09

Yes well played Soderling. It was straight sets but certainly no walk over for Fed: 6-4 7-6 7-6.

It's certainly shaping up for a Murray - Federer final, but still a way to go.

Re: wimbledon '09

That was one hell of a game last night.  They both looked completely drained after it.  No idea how tennis players manage to do that for four hours in punishing heat then are ready to go again two days later.

Fit bastards.

Re: wimbledon '09

Good effort by Haas but Fed's looking pretty unbeatable really. I think knowing Nadal isn't there has taken a lot of pressure off him from the start.

totally agree, gert! federer was completely cool for the whole  match....unfortunately haas gave up halfway through the 3rd set.

ha ha ha!

yeah, i was rootin' for the murray...but roddick was impeccable on the court...he's probably still in shock that he's in the final, like the rest of the u.k.

Pretty amazing match, you have to feel for Roddick.

Re: wimbledon '09

yeah, that was one for the history books. as said above, gotta feel for roddick. has he ever played a better match? what does it say about federer when roddick doesn't loose a service game until the final game in the fifth set (when the score was 14-15)?

i'm a great fan of fed, and was thrilled that he won. however, i'm not sure how many more grand slams he's got left in him. the chasing pack are closing the distance awfully quickly, and it feels that he's got to fight harder every year to retain his position. he's been up for it so far, but i'm afraid he might start to loose his motivation and inner drive when he's not making the slam finals anymore. i wish him all the best - honestly, he's one the athletes of all time. and pair that with a humble, down-to-earth personality, and what's not to like?

i'm betting that he'll take the US open too this year, but roddick will give him a run for the money, for sure. i'm very uncertain about nadal, however. i hope it's not a long road back for him after his injury.
