They didn't play Clarity and Bleed American, it was just a regular set, and very similar to the one last time. Still, they are good songs (in the opinion of exactly 2 people on this board) and the crowd was up for it.

It continues to surprise me how they sell out venues like that when if you asked someone on the street about them then I doubt many in the UK would have heard of them, never mind be able to identify one of their songs.

Feel better about missing it now, but still wish i could have gone.

Bright Eyes, and most of Saddle Creek, for that matter, are the boy-band dreck of the indie genre. His success comes from the demographic of angsty teenage girls. How many 15 year old girls did you see that night? Having to endure a set of his was one of the most painful gig-experiences I have ever had. BUT, you like Ryan Adams, so it seems oddly fitting for you. Do you also watch/read Twilight, have one of those Rod Stweart haircuts covering your eyes and an arm full of silly bandz? Nonetheless, as the saying goes, to each his own.

I'd find this quite funny if you hadn't come on, and made a profile specifically for this purpose.  That has just made it weird.

Why am I here?  Fuck you.  I have given nothing but praise to the SM records I have liked (including the new one), and slagged off the ones I don't.  It's called having opinions, and not just blindly liking everything someone puts out.  I'll slag off the bad Ryan Adams records, and I'll praise the good Jimmy Eat World records - I like what I like and don't conform to just liking an artist and everything they release, or hating an artist and everything they do, with one view forever.  You must pick your acts, get a view immediately then that is you done, on to the next.  Pretty pathetic.

Moving on from that though;

This has come up lots of times before, but the perception of a whole ton of bands in the UK vs the USA and vice versa is interesting.  Bright Eyes, was a sold out crowd of 30-somethings, not a kid in sight, even some older fans, so you couldn't be further from the truth on that one.

I think Something Vague by Bright Eyes is a really terrific song.

I do find his voice annoying and when I saw them live he was pretty arsey but the guy can sure write a song.

I wonder is Little Bird a person who just follows Jimmers posts and pops up occasionally to criticise them or is it a regular poster who hides behind the bird for his bouts of Jimmer bashing? Quite strange either way!
